Orlando Biker Detained In Polk County With Stolen Gun From Bradenton After Reckless Ride

An Orlando man was arrested after a traffic stop for reckless driving on Wednesday evening. He was found to be in possession of a stolen handgun.

According to deputies, the incident occurred around 8:45 p.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of Lake Wilson Road and Ronald Reagan Parkway in Loughman, just north of Davenport.

A deputy with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) observed the driver of a silver 2005 Yamaha motorcycle accelerate rapidly from a stop after the traffic light turned green and execute a wheelie.

The deputy conducted a traffic stop for dangerous driving. According to reports, the biker turned around and accelerated away from the deputy. Due to safety concerns, the deputy disengaged from the pursuit but remained in the vicinity.

About ten minutes later, the deputy saw the motorcyclist nearby and began the arrest.

The driver was identified as Christian Alexander Lasaine-Scarborough, 21, of Orlando.

During the arrest, deputies discovered Lasaine-Scarborough with a Glock 19 9mm handgun. A record check revealed that the firearm was reported stolen out of Bradenton in 2019.

When questioned by the deputy about the provenance of the firearm, Lasaine-Scarborough replied that he obtained it from a family member. He then declined to disclose additional information, stating that he wanted to talk with an attorney.
