Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has announced the arrest of Antonio De Jesus Moreno Escobar, an illegal alien accused of stealing the identity of a young Texas minor, denying the child access to critical Medicaid healthcare benefits.
Moreno Escobar is now being held under an ICE detainer following his arrest.
“This case is a disturbing example of how illegal aliens drain our resources, hurt innocent Texans, and even deprive children of vital healthcare,” stated Attorney General Paxton. “My office will ensure that illegal aliens who exploit our systems and target our families face the full force of the law.”
During the three-year criminal scam, Moreno Escobar paid $120 for forged documents such as a stolen Social Security number, a Texas ID card, and a counterfeit green card.
He then utilized the identity of a 13-year-old child from Hutto, Texas, to get jobs at seven different firms in the greater Houston area.
The deception was only detected when the victim’s mother received a sad notification: her son’s Medicaid coverage was being canceled due to income reported fraudulently in his name.
