Two men have been taken into custody after deputies say they repeatedly raped a 12-year-old girl.
Felix Bustillo Diaz, 49, of Honduras, and Jose Gerber Rivera, 45, of El Salvador, are accused of raping Diaz’s niece after illegally smuggling her into the country. According to authorities, the child was left alone in Diaz’s custody by her mother.
“Arresting violent people who seek to prey on our most vulnerable residents is our top priority, and the allegations in this case are especially disturbing,” said HCSO Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
According to authorities, the child fled Diaz with the help of two women, but instead of assisting her, the two women zip-tied, beat, tortured, and malnourished her while forcing her to perform hard labor for them.
“The details of this investigation are deeply disturbing and represent some of the most evil criminal behavior in our society,” said Montgomery County Sheriff Wesley Doolittle. “While the child is now safe, our mission is far from over. We will continue to work tirelessly with our law enforcement partners to uncover all details of this investigation and ensure that justice is served.”
On October 3, Brenda Garcia, 38, and Tania Garcia, 37, were arrested and charged with felony child injury, unlawful restraint, and invasive visual recording.
Rivera was arrested in The Woodlands by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, while Diaz was detained by ICE for immigration issues. He has since been transferred to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office’s custody.
