“We were there to have fun and celebrate each other, and to see him walk out like that was horrifying,” Auckerman recalled” ”

Meeks reported the club was closing and everyone was leaving around 2 a.m. on Sunday. The incident began as everyone was pouring into a hallway towards the exit.

“Somebody behind me was like trying to kind of like push his way through me, and I turned around and asked him not to do that,” Meeks recalls.

Meeks claimed the individual grew hostile with him.

“Saying, like, some slurs and saying, like, Wait till we get outside,” Meeks recalled.

Meeks stated that he attempted to separate himself from the man, but the man allegedly punched him three times in the face.

“There wasn’t, like, a shove, an altercation like that,” Meeks told me. “Before we could even make it outside, I felt three sharp pains and then was covered in blood, apparently.”

Meeks was eventually diagnosed with two orbital fractures and a fractured nose. He needs surgery next week.

“He just came out dripping with blood.” His white shirt was completely covered with blood. “You couldn’t tell it was him on the left side of his face,” Auckerman explained.

According to the pair, the bouncer contacted the police, but the man had already left by the time officers arrived.

“He just sprinted out of the club,” Auckerman recalled.

Scottsdale Police reported that they had not made any arrests in this case.

The pair expects Meeks’ injuries to heal before their August wedding, but they want the person who inflicted the misery to be held responsible.

“I don’t understand why someone would be that mad over, like, not getting out of a club that quick,” Meeks reportedly added.

A spokeswoman for Riot Hospitality Group, which runs Cake Nightclub, told 12News in a statement, “We are aware of the incident. We work closely with the Scottsdale Police Department, and they are handling the problem.

A GoFundMe campaign was set up to assist the couple with medical expenses. Click here to make a donation.
