The interim mayor of Weir, who also serves as an alderman, is facing a felony charge in connection to a multi-county probe.
Douglas Atkinson was arrested Tuesday on Choctaw and Webster County warrants. He is accused of computer enticement of a minor, a serious felony.
Atkinson was released from Choctaw County on a $100,000 bond but remains in prison in Webster County.
