Two people are dead, and several more were injured after a shooting in Downtown Dallas early Monday morning.
The Dallas Police Department responded to a disturbance report around 2 a.m. in the 2000 block of Commerce Street, outside the Hyde and Seek Lounge.
“I can confirm that an officer-involved shooting occurred,” a DPD official stated.
The spokesperson confirmed that multiple individuals sustained gunshot wounds at the scene. CBS News Texas reported that the suspect shot and murdered a victim before authorities shot and killed him.
According to DPD, both the suspect and one of the victims died. Several injured people were transferred to a nearby hospital. DPD did not disclose how many people were transported. No cops were wounded.
CBS News Texas crews observed scores of DPD units near the location. The intersection of Commerce and Pearl Streets near the UNT Dallas College of Law was closed while the inquiry was ongoing.
DPD stated that the inquiry is still ongoing.
