A 40-year-old man was hospitalized in critical but stable condition Tuesday after being attacked by three people while sitting on a motorized scooter in downtown Brooklyn, according to police.
The incident began around 4:47 p.m. in front of 142 Lawrence Street, when a verbal argument turned violent. According to authorities, the first assailant hit the victim in the face, causing him to fall off his scooter. The three accused then repeatedly punched and kicked the victim in the body.
The attackers fled the area on foot, heading in various directions. EMS evacuated the victim to The Brooklyn Hospital Center after he sustained a major bodily injury to his right ear.
Police are looking for three unidentified male suspects, all with dark complexions. We last spotted the first suspect, dressed in a white sweater, fleeing westward on Lawrence Street. The second donned a beige sweatsuit and fled west. The third dressed all black and fled eastbound.
The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests had been made as of Wednesday.
