A former Olympic boxer has been sentenced to life in prison for murdering his daughter in Lebanon County and disposing of her body in New York, according to the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office.
Kabary Salem, 57, was found guilty of first-degree murder in October 2025 for killing his daughter, Ola Salem, 25, in October 2019.
Officials say Salem brought his daughter to Lebanon County on October 23, 2019, to assist him in painting a restaurant he purchased on the 600 block of Main Street. Salem and his daughter were fighting the next day before returning to New York.
Investigators discovered Salem murdered his daughter in Palmyra and disposed of her body in New York using security video and GPS records from several sources.
Pedestrians discovered Ola Salem’s body in a Staten Island park on October 24, 2019, according to the charging documents. An autopsy in June 2024 revealed that she died from blunt force trauma, strangling, and other traumatic injuries. Investigators also discovered Salem’s DNA under the victim’s fingernails.
Authorities examined Salem, but she fled to the Middle East until they arrested her in December 2020.
“A father is supposed to love and protect his child, but, this defendant committed one of the cruelest acts imaginable — he murdered his daughter in cold blood,” Attorney General Sunday said.
Salem was sentenced following a weeklong trial.
