Authorities performed traffic enforcement stops on suspect vehicles throughout the region based on evidence acquired during a months-long investigation.

In total, officers discovered approximately 1,500 pounds of methamphetamine. The medicines’ street value is estimated at $100 million.

Several people were detained and charged in connection with the large-scale operation. Authorities did not divulge their identities. The situation is still being investigated, thus no further information has been disclosed.

“This highlights the importance of our Investigative Services Unit, K9 teams, Crime Suppression Team and working closely with allied agencies in keeping our communities safe,” CHP officials said. “The CHP remains committed to keeping dangerous drugs and weapons off our streets.”
