Heavy Rain And Cold Blast To Hit Louisiana And Southeast Texas Early This Week

The National Weather Service in Lake Charles predicts that a Gulf low-pressure system will travel along the coast today and tonight, bringing widespread rain and a few thunderstorms to southwest Louisiana and southeast Texas.

The heaviest rainfall is forecast along and south of the I-10 corridor, with chances of surpassing 2 inches ranging from 15% to more than 50%.

After the storm clears, colder air will move in, causing freezing temperatures in central Louisiana and the east Texas Lakes region by Tuesday morning, with another minor frost likely north of I-10 on Wednesday.

A second system is forecast to produce more heavy rain late this week, prolonging the region’s dynamic and changeable weather pattern.
