A man was found shot in the head and killed on the South Side early Monday, prompting Chicago police to launch a homicide investigation.
The shooting took place at around 6 a.m. in the 10900 block of South State Street.
Police discovered a 38-year-old man unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
No other information regarding the shooting has been disclosed, and no other injuries have been recorded.
Police stated no one is in custody while the investigation is ongoing.
