7 People Charged In Chicago Grocery Store Parking Lot Drug Sales Investigation, Sheriff Says

A weeks-long investigation into complaints about drug sales near a Chicago grocery store resulted in seven felony charges, according to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office.

Residents claimed drug deals were taking place in and around the parking lot of a South Loop grocery store, so investigators focused on the vicinity of Roosevelt Road and Wabash Avenue.

Over several weeks, investigators conducted covert purchases to identify alleged sellers.

On November 25, six people were detained, all of whom are Chicago residents accused of trafficking marijuana:

A seventh suspect, 36-year-old Eric Harrington, was already being held in Cook County Jail on separate allegations.

In total, the men were charged with 11 felony manufacture/delivery counts.
