He formerly worked as a security guard for the Brighton Central School District.

According to police, a group called “Decoys Making a Difference” reported the incident and filed a binder including a chat log between Kervin and someone he assumed to be a 14-year-old female.

Brighton superintendent Kevin McGowan issued a statement saying:

Dear Members of the Brighton School Community,

We are writing to let you know that we are aware of stories in the media regarding a former employee that has been charged with first-degree disseminating indecent material to minors.

The individual in question has not worked in the District for approximately a year and a half. During their employment, we did not receive any complaints or reports of inappropriate conduct. We do not have any reason to believe that this situation is in any way related to our school district or their prior employment. That said, we will monitor the situation closely and work with law enforcement to address any additional concerns or information that results from their investigation. Please contact your child’s teacher, counselor, or principal if you have additional concerns or questions.

According to the conversation log, Kervin requested that the youngster provide improper images and stated a desire to offer the female “lessons” about her body.

Kervin reportedly visited Crosbys in Perry yesterday to meet the 14-year-old “decoy,” according to police.
