Willard Dorsey of Albany won the $1,000,000 top prize on the New York Lottery’s $1,000,000 Bonus Cashword scratch-off game, according to lottery officials.
Dorsey received a single lump sum payment of $436,173 after required withholdings.
The winning ticket was purchased at MNZ Mart, situated at 222 South Pearl St. in Albany. Albany is around 130 miles from New York City.
As of this writing, there were three top prizes left on the $1,000,000 Bonus Cashword ticket. Players can view the status of any New York Lottery scratch-off game by downloading the Game Report from nylottery.ny.gov.
During fiscal year 2024-2025, New York Lottery scratch-off games generated a total of $4,339,794,048. Albany County school districts received $60,687,854 in Lottery Aid to Education monies over the same time period.
