Ocala man wins $15M prize from scratch-off purchased at Circle K

An Ocala man won $15 million from a scratch-off he purchased at a local gas station earlier this year.

On June 18, David Keith Rubin won the main prize of $15,000,000 in the Gold Rush Multiplier scratch-off game. Rubin purchased the winning ticket at the Circle K at 5201 S Pine Avenue in Ocala. The gas station is directly across the street from a freshly opened Wawa.

Rubin chose to accept a single sum payment of $8,968,000. Rubin’s identity was not first published because it was exempt from disclosure under Florida Statute 24.1051.

According to the statute, the identities of lottery winners who claim rewards “of $250,000 or greater” are shielded from public disclosure for 90 days. Rubin’s name was no longer exempt starting in September.

The Florida Lottery’s Gold Rush Multiplier, which launched in September 2024, formerly awarded four top rewards totaling $15 million. All of the rewards have been won. The odds of winning one of those rewards were one in 5,476,290.

Rubin joins at least four other Marion County citizens who have claimed Florida Lottery jackpots worth more than $1 million.

Last week, a $1 million ticket was sold at Quick King Food Store #12, located at 7947 W. Highway 40 in Ocala..
