A Kansas City woman traveling through Cooper County is apprehended after a state trooper finds over two ounces of methamphetamine during a traffic stop.
On Monday afternoon, the patrolman was executing normal stationary traffic enforcement on I-70 just west of Boonville when he noticed a driver with an expired temporary tag. He stopped the car driven by Dawn Levi, 37, and discovered she was on probation for possessing a stolen vehicle and a controlled substance. According to the trooper, Levi was apprehensive, admitted to previous drug use, and provided contradicting information about her travel intentions.
According to court documents, Levi admitted that there was a meth pipe in the driver’s door. During a check of her car, the trooper discovered two pipes with white residue, a digital scale with white contamination, and 2.08 ounces of meth.
Levi was charged on Tuesday with first-degree drug trafficking. She is being held in the Cooper County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
