An 18-year-old man told Carlisle police that he molested and then raped an 11-year-old girl on Saturday while she was sleeping, according to court documents.

Police were called around 11:15 a.m. after the 11-year-old awoke to find Carlisle resident Jatsur Polanco on top of her, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed on Saturday.

The girl informed authorities that Polanco had sexually assaulted her about an hour prior. According to court documents, Polanco admitted to authorities that he was lying in bed next to the girl and began molesting her after she fell asleep.

According to the affidavit, Polanco then raped the girl for about a minute before stopping when she woke up.

According to court documents, the girl was bleeding following the incident and had a sexual assault exam. According to the affidavit, the girl informed the nurse doing the test that she awoke to find Polanco on top of her and had to push him off.

Polanco was charged on Saturday with two counts of rape and four counts of aggravated indecent assault. All counts are felonies.

According to online court records, he was unable to post $150,000 bail and is currently being held at Cumberland County Prison. A preliminary hearing is set for December 31 before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Birbeck.
