Chicago Brothers Kavion and Eugene Davenport Charged in Citywide Burglary Spree

Two Chicago brothers, Kavion and Eugene Davenport, are facing significant charges after being apprehended by the city’s Robbery Task Force earlier this week.

According to a Chicago Police Department report, Kavion Davenport, 18, and his brother Eugene Davenport, 19, were arrested for a string of burglaries throughout the city, both living in the 5400 block of W. Melrose St.

The younger Davenport faces four felony counts of burglary and one misdemeanor count of criminal trespass to a car.

Eugene, his elder brother, has been charged with the same four felony burglary offenses, as well as one felony count for receiving, possessing, or selling a stolen car and another for aggravated escape resulting in more than $300 in property damage.

On the afternoon of December 17, the siblings were apprehended after the task force discovered them between the 4100 block of W. 70th St. and W. 69th Pl. As they sat in a stolen vehicle reported missing the day before, their arrest marked the end of what looks to be a series of burglaries that began in early November and ended on the date of arrest.

Starting with a break-in reported on November 4, 2025, at an address on W. Nelson St., both persons were linked to crimes on N. Lawndale Ave., N. Greenview Ave, and W. Wellington Ave, culminating in a spree on December 17 — all within hours.

Their detention hearing has been scheduled for December 19, 2025, at 2600 S. California Ave., where further proceedings in their case will resume. The Chicago Police have not revealed any additional details regarding their investigation or the brothers’ alleged crime spree. Officers discovered the stolen vehicle, taken from a 30-year-old lady between December 16 and 17, and arrested and charged the Davenports with the crimes mentioned.
