Woman Taken Into Custody For Domestic Violence In Miami-dade Is Wanted For Carjacking In Broward

A carjacking victim told Hollywood police that he expected to “hook up” with Camilla Diaz and give her a ride home in Miami-Dade.

According to records, the victim claimed to police he had known Diaz, 22, since ninth grade and promised to pick her up in Hollywood’s Parkside neighborhood.

Diaz fled during an armed robbery and carjacking on September 18, 2024, at Plunkett Street and South 21st Avenue, according to authorities.

“The victim said he got out of his vehicle to help Diaz with her belongings,” a Hollywood detective wrote, according to the warrant. “Once he exited the vehicle, he followed Diaz up the stairs and saw two light-skinned males emerge from the bushes with guns, and that was when he realized Diaz had set him up.”

A Broward County court issued an arrest warrant, and Miami-Dade deputies apprehended her on February 5. She was extradited and freed on house arrest with a GPS on March 21 but was back in jail on Saturday.

Diaz was arrested on violence charges after reportedly attacking her mother on November 27 in Miami-Dade’s South Miami Heights neighborhood. A judge ordered her to remain away from her mother, so she formed a bond and fled, according to records.

On December 2, a Broward judge issued a pretrial release warrant with a hold and no bail bond. Diaz turned 23 on December 18, and on December 19, deputies detained her in Miami-Dade.

According to Miami-Dade jail records, officials booked Diaz on Friday night in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

Diaz appeared in court on Saturday in Miami-Dade County after officers accused her of violating a domestic violence order.

According to court records, Diaz’s misdemeanor arraignment is scheduled for January 20 in Miami-Dade. She is awaiting extradition to Broward.

The misdemeanor case is presided upon by Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Elisabeth Espinosa. Ernest Kollra Jr., a Broward County Circuit Judge, presided over the felony case.
