An Indianapolis man is in jail after police claim he caused a tragic car crash while drunk driving on New Year’s Day.
According to News 8, officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a two-vehicle crash on West 79th Street, just east of Michigan Road, on Thursday morning.
One individual died on the scene. IMPD did not say whether anyone else was wounded.
On Friday, police reported Dubois’ arrest. According to investigators, Dubois was driving west on 79th Street when his car crossed the center line and collided with the second vehicle head-on.
Dubois is facing preliminary accusations of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, resulting in death, and driving while intoxicated.
He was being held at the Marion County Jail as of Friday morning. According to jail records, he is scheduled to appear in court for a hearing on Tuesday.
