A South Carolina woman was taken into custody on December 31 in connection with an alleged scam involving an Anderson County boutique.
According to a Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office social media post, deputies received a report on December 26 from a Fairfield County victim who claimed to have been a victim of a scam using Thomas and Turner Boutique in Anderson County.
Following the complaint, deputies investigated and presented the case to a Fairfield County magistrate, who issued an arrest warrant on December 31 for Pamela Brooke Schronce, the boutique’s owner, on a charge of obtaining goods under false pretenses, in violation of South Carolina Code of Laws 16-13-240.
Schronce was arrested and sent to Anderson County Detention Center, according to the post. Schronce is currently being transported to Fairfield County, where she will face official charges, according to deputies.
Deputies believe that various people, including those on social media, have linked the case to several allegations.
The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone who believes they may have been a victim of a similar incident to report their allegations to local authorities.
Deputies said they may provide further information once it becomes available, as the investigation continues.
