Two juveniles were taken into custody on New Year’s Day after crashing a stolen vehicle during a brief chase with Mississippi law enforcement.
Capitol Police in Jackson stated that officers attempted a traffic stop just after 4 p.m. after recognizing a vehicle that matched the description of a stolen car.
The driver of the car failed to stop, leading cops on a chase until colliding near the intersection of Highway 80 and Valley Street.
The two occupants of the car were apprehended after attempting to leave on foot.
According to Capitol Police, the juvenile suspects face felony charges of fleeing and eluding law enforcement, possession of a stolen vehicle, and possession of a stolen firearm.
The incident is still under investigation.
