A 34-year-old man was arrested Sunday after being captured on surveillance video removing several eggs belonging to an Egyptian goose and throwing them to the ground, according to authorities.
According to the arrest record from the North Miami Beach Police Department, a business owner near 1960 NE 164th St. turned over the footage to police Sunday morning.
According to police, the suspect, Johnathon Muniz of Miami Gardens, can be seen in the video retrieving the eggs and then throwing roughly seven of them on the ground.
Authorities say he then left the area.
Officers received a photo of the suspect, which a sergeant recognized as Muniz.
According to police, two cops found him at Northeast 164th Street and 15th Avenue.
The report states that Muniz provided a statement to detectives, but the publicly published report redacted it.
Police arrested Muniz on charges of animal cruelty and trespassing on private land after issuing a warning.
Muniz was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Monday afternoon on a $9,000 bond.
