4 People Arrested After Memphis-To-Southaven Pursuit Ends In Crash

Four people were arrested Sunday after a pursuit that began in Memphis and ended in DeSoto County, the Southaven Police Department said.

Memphis police responded to a shots-fired call near Elvis Presley Boulevard and Shelby Drive shortly after 4:30 p.m., according to reports. Officers later located the suspects’ vehicle on Holmes Road but lost sight of it after they drove away.

Southaven police reported the vehicle entered their jurisdiction and crashed into numerous other vehicles near Highway 51 and Main Street. According to officials, all four suspects were apprehended following a brief foot pursuit.

The suspects were identified as Joshua Sanford, Miracle Wells, Darnell Barbee, and Herman Powell. They are facing various criminal charges in Memphis, and Southaven police have charged them with fugitive from justice, traffic, and drug offenses.

The crash resulted in one injury, which was not considered life-threatening, according to authorities.
