Two people were taken into custody on Friday after breaking into a house in the 200 block of 26th Street Drive SE in Cedar Rapids.
According to court documents, Dejonte Davis and Jaelyn Miller approached the house and used tape to cover the Ring doorbell.
The homeowner’s brother went outside to see who was present. Police added that when he opened the door, the two suspects forced their way inside and threatened to kill him with a gun.
Police say those inside the home were able to hold both criminals until officers arrived.
One individual was hurt and sent to a nearby hospital for treatment. There has been no update on his condition.
Davis and Miller were arrested and face numerous accusations, including burglary and conspiracy to commit a forcible offense.
