A Louisiana inmate who had been on the run for three months has been arrested in Mississippi.
U.S. Marshals re-arrested Christopher Delcambre, 51, a work-release inmate accused of leaving his work assignment in September 2025.
According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, Delcambre vanished after walking away from a work assignment at the Florida Parishes Arena. Delcambre participated in a program that allows selected offenders to work outside of imprisonment.
Delcambre was recently captured at a homeless encampment in Jackson. He has been returned to the Tangipahoa Parish Jail and is facing fresh charges of aggravated escape.
Delcambre was initially arrested in connection with a drug and criminal theft case.
