A traffic stop late Tuesday night in Lakeland turned into a trip to jail for a Rockledge man after deputies discovered an active warrant for his arrest in a nearby county.
Around 9:55 p.m. on January 6, a Polk County Sheriff’s Office officer stopped a red Ford F-150 on Combee Road. The driver was identified as William Dale Murray, 60.
During the check, deputies discovered that Murray was wanted. He had an ongoing warrant in Pinellas County for grand theft and unlicensed residential contracting.
Murray was detained at the scene and transferred to the Polk County Sheriff’s Processing Center, where he was jailed on the outstanding warrant.
