An Ohio man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges related to child exploitation, following a multi-state and international investigation. The Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office identified Gary Edward Klink, 45, of Girard, Ohio, as the suspect in a case involving a 13-year-old girl from Montgomery County, Texas. Texas real estate.
The investigation began in October 2023, when the Montgomery County Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force was alerted to the young girl’s victimization, in which she was coerced into exchanging Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) with Klink. Detectives established that Klink sent explicit images of himself to the victim over social media. A forensic analysis of the images and information led to Klink’s identification, and the Girard, Ohio, Police Department produced more evidence, including body-worn camera footage that matched a unique mole on Klink’s chest with images delivered to the victim.
Klink was also facing an inquiry in Ontario, Canada, for allegedly grooming a 15-year-old girl. Multiple law enforcement organizations, including the Girard Police Department and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, worked together to apprehend Klink and uncover additional CSAM and evidence of other victims in Ohio and Arizona.
Klink was extradited to Montgomery County, Texas, and pleaded guilty on January 5, 2026. The Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office thanked the many agencies participating in the inquiry. Constable Kenneth “Rowdy” Hayden highlighted the case as a warning to those who exploit children, adding, “Those who take advantage of and exploit children, regardless of distance, borders, or jurisdiction, will be identified, pursued, arrested, and held accountable.”
