A Pennsylvania man allegedly sold vehicles unlawfully on behalf of a dealership and local residents in a Facebook Marketplace scam. The Pennsylvania State Police also charged a business, Mountain Boss Hoss Cycle, with allegedly participating in the scheme.
According to the police, around July 1st, 2024, the Pennsylvania State Police’s Vehicle Fraud Unit spotted many Facebook Marketplace listings. They were all listed on one man’s Bedford account. He allegedly continued to promote vehicles for sale on Facebook Marketplace until about November 17th, 2025.

Further inquiry revealed that he was selling the vehicles for Mountain Boss Hoss Cycle, a dealership in Somerset County. The dealership allegedly sold many vehicles in this manner, despite the man’s lack of a license.
During the inquiry, they discovered that the man was advertising other automobiles for sale on behalf of private individuals on Facebook Marketplace.
Pennsylvania State Police charged both the man and Mountain Boss Hoss Cycle with breaching the Pennsylvania Board of Vehicles Act.
