A 15-year-old from Ohio turned himself in to police after reportedly shooting and killing his 12-year-old brother, sparking a manhunt.
The shooting occurred shortly before 11 p.m. on Friday in the family’s apartment, according to authorities. The child was rushed to the hospital but died from his injuries while receiving treatment.
Police searched for the suspect, who they believed was armed and dangerous, for more than 12 hours before determining that the victim’s 15-year-old brother was most likely the shooter.
The 15-year-old turned himself in to police on Saturday afternoon and was charged with reckless homicide. Police did not say whether the gunshot was accidental or how the 15-year-old obtained the gun.
