Alyssa Perry of Rockaway Township, a teacher at Morris Knolls High School, was the subject of an inquiry after school authorities reported her inappropriate behavior to Denville police in March, according to Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll.
Perry, who is suspended from school, was charged on Friday, June 6, with two counts of sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a minor, according to authorities.
According to the Morris Knolls school district’s website, Perry was the cheerleading coach. She started teaching math at the high school in 2018, according to the Hilltopper, the school newspaper. According to the Hilltopper, she graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in mathematics and later got a master’s in math education.
Perry has been freed under pretrial monitoring, according to authorities. She is prohibited from contacting the victim or the school, and she is not permitted to contact any pupil, according to authorities. According to authorities, she is scheduled to appear in court again in July.
