Two teen knifemen were detained on Sunday after a 17-year-old was slashed in the neck on a Queens street and died, according to authorities.
Derek Trejo, 18, and a 17-year-old accused accomplice were arrested Sunday for reportedly knifing Josue Argudo, also 17, on a Woodhaven street in broad daylight on Friday afternoon.
Both suspects were charged with murder after allegedly pursuing Argudo, beating him, and fatally stabbing him in the neck.
Argudo was wandering about Jamaica Avenue and 76th Street around 3:45 p.m. when he got into a dispute with the suspects, whom he didn’t know, police said.
He fled on foot but was allegedly chased by his assailants, who caught up with him and attacked him.
Neighbors who witnessed the event performed CPR on Argudo before he was transported to Jamaica Hospital in severe condition. He was eventually pronounced deceased.
It’s unknown what provoked the horrific attack.
“I thought he was punching him but the guy in black must have had the knife wrapped up around his hand,” one witness said.
“The kid sat down, and then he slumped over,” she said of Argudo. “What a sin.”
Both individuals were captured on neighboring security footage.
They were also charged with unlawful possession of a weapon.
