Allegheny Township police have accused a township resident of offering to purchase a 6-year-old girl from her mother.
According to a criminal complaint filed against him, Theodore Magee, 43, offered to purchase the girl he had sexually assaulted.
Magee faces a half-dozen charges, including aggravated indecent assault of a child, attempted indecent assault of a child, and trafficking in individuals.
According to investigators, Magee inappropriately handled the girl while he watched her overnight last March.
According to the complaint, Magee told police that he and the girl, whom he referred to as his “girlfriend” in videos and conversations, slept on the same air mattress and “hugged.”
When police checked Magee’s phone, they found a message to the girl’s mother proposing to buy her for $5,000, according to the complaint. A search of the phone turned up photos and videos of the girl, according to authorities.
Magee’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 20 before District Judge Cheryl J. Peck-Yakopec.
