El Paso man apprehended for stalking and harassment after meeting victim at gym

A 25-year-old man who was previously convicted of online sex crimes was arrested in early 2026 after reportedly stalking and harassing a woman he met at a gym in Sparks.

On January 5, Ivan Alejandro Alvarado was arrested and put into the El Paso County Jail Annex. He was charged with stalking, and his bond was set at $35,000.

According to police documents, Alvarado allegedly stalked and sexually harassed a woman for more than a year after meeting her at a Planet Fitness facility.

According to the records, the woman told detectives that between Nov. 20, 2024, and Nov. 19, 2025, she received dozens of calls and text messages in which Alvarado reportedly threatened sexual assault.

The victim told authorities that despite blocking his number, she continued to receive calls with “no caller ID,” and that even when she said she didn’t respond, the caller left sexually explicit voice messages.

The victim reportedly told detectives that even after switching gyms, the harassment continued, with Alvarado attempting to approach her inside the gym or waiting for her outside.

In the report, police describe examining cellphone video provided by the victim, which appears to show Alvarado outside the new gym, pacing back and forth, and then attempting to break into a vehicle he allegedly mistook for the victim’s.

As a result, a warrant was issued for Alvarado’s arrest.

Three days after his detention, on January 8, Alvarado was freed from jail after paying a surety bond.

According to criminal case documents, Alvarado pleaded guilty and was convicted of publishing or threatening to publish intimate material in September 2025.

According to the records, Alvarado was sentenced to two years in prison and five years of community service.

However, documents show that the two-year sentence was suspended.
