A former Clear Dot Charter School teacher has been apprehended for allegedly assaulting a student, according to the Columbia Police Department.
Kelly Tijuana Grady was arrested on January 10 for one count of cruelty to a child.

Grady allegedly “pushed” a student against the wall and held him there, limiting his ability to move. The incident allegedly took place on Marion Street in Columbia.
Grady’s departure from Clear Dot Charter School was confirmed by a school representative on Wednesday.
It is our standard practice not to comment on the specifics of personnel matters out of respect for individual privacy. We can, however, confirm that Ms. Grady is no longer employed by Clear Dot Charter School,” the spokesperson said.
Grady was first booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center but was later released on a $465 personal recognizance bail, according to court documents.
