Several men were arrested following a search warrant at a Midlands home.
On January 14, the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED), and US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) conducted a search warrant at a home at 2588 Fort Jackson Road in Elgin.
According to officials, the search warrant was issued as part of an ongoing investigation into claims of criminal sexual conduct as well as gun and narcotics crimes.
During the operation, two people were apprehended without incident.
A stolen Glenfield Model 75.22LR rifle, two handguns, and 47 grams of cocaine were among the items seized.
The following men were charged:
- Andres Oropeza Nicolas: Charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct 1st Degree.
- Jose Gadial Baltazar: Charged with two counts of Sale/Delivery/Transport of a Firearm to an Unlawful Alien, Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime, First Offense Trafficking Cocaine Greater than 28g but Less than 100g.
- Adan Celso Evangelista: Charged with Sale/Delivery/Transport of a Firearm to an Unlawful Alien.
The investigation is ongoing, and investigators are looking for additional suspects.
