The former Youth Challenge Program Director of McCrady Training Center, Ronnie Scott, 56, has been apprehended for assault.
According to authorities, on October 9, 2025, the Office of the Inspector General notified the Richland County Sheriff’s Department of a complaint against the McCrady Training Center for an assault on a cadet within the Youth Challenge Program.
The complaint and video surveillance from the incident were forwarded to investigators.
The video surveillance showed Scott following a cadet outside one of the buildings and throwing him to the ground.
Scott was arrested on January 9 for assault and battery in the third degree.
He was arrested at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center and released on the same day on a $500 personal recognizance bond.
