Female Inmate Discovered Dead In Cell At Marion County Jail

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office says a 58-year-old female inmate was discovered unresponsive in her cell Thursday morning.

According to the sheriff’s office, Jacqueline Denise Sublett was located at approximately 6:10 a.m. on January 15. The sheriff’s office stated that life-saving operations were carried out until 6:52 a.m., when Sublett was pronounced dead.

Sublett’s death looks to be natural, with no foul play suspected, according to a news statement from the sheriff’s office.

Deputies and medical staff provided first assistance until Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services (IEMS) and the Indianapolis Fire Department (IFD) arrived.

Sublett was detained on a warrant for battery with bodily injury to a public safety officer and battery resulting in bodily harm.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the Forensic Services Agency, the Marion County Coroner’s Office, and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Internal Affairs Unit are each conducting an independent investigation into her death.
