A Bullhead City man was detained after a traffic collision that killed a Kingman man in Golden Valley over the weekend. The incident near milepost 22 on State Route 68 was reported at 4:23 a.m. on Sunday, June 8th.
“A 2-door coupe was witnessed traveling at a high rate of speed in a 50-mph zone when it struck a motorcyclist in the rear, throwing the motorcyclist to the pavement,” a Department of Public Safety (DPS) news release said. DPS said Travis Johnson, 54, was dead at the scene.
According to DPS, the driver of the coupe, Skyler Jerome McQuater, 24, was detained for driving under the influence. The department stated that more charges are awaiting an ongoing investigation.
