A man in a Ford Mustang was arrested for drag racing near a recreation center in The Villages.
Joshua Darren Hay, 40, of Lady Lake, was driving a dark-colored 2016 Ford Mustang at 10 p.m. Tuesday when a sheriff’s deputy from Sumter County parked at Laurel Manor Recreation Center heard loud engine revving.

The deputy began pursuing the vehicles along County Road 466. on a drag racing charge.
The officer discovered that Hay is on felony probation in Lake County his conviction for dangerous driving with bodily injury. His probation is due to terminate in December 2026.
He was brought into custody and put into the Sumter County Detention Center, where he was held without bond.
