A man convicted of decapitating his wife was discovered dead from a hanging in his Houston County prison cell.
Jared James Dicus, 24, of Waller County, pled guilty in 2024 to murdering his wife, Anggy Diaz, according to KTRK. She was found decapitated in their home in January 2023, only months after the pair married in October. Dicus was sentenced to 40 years in the Wainwright Unit in Houston County.

After he was discovered, life-saving measures were performed but were unsuccessful, and Dicus was pronounced dead by responding EMS personnel just before 11 p.m.
