Two children are now safe with a suspect in custody after an Amber Alert in Kansas City (State of Missouri).
The Kansas City Police Department reports that the family was anxious for the children’s safety after two siblings went missing. Around 9:45 p.m., the incident was upgraded to an Amber Alert.
According to KCPD, a 10-year-old girl and her 8-year-old brother were last seen around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 22, near Barry and Maple Woods Rd. in the city’s north.
Lyrick T. Bryson, 27, drove a silver 2-door Infiniti with Missouri temporary tags, 008DMLF, which police claim contained the children.
The children:
Investigators describe the sister as a 4-foot-tall female weighing 75 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen dressed in a red jacket, yellow dress, and pink shoes.
The brother is described as a 5-foot-tall guy weighing approximately 90 pounds. He’s also got black hair and brown eyes. He was last spotted in a grey t-shirt, red trousers, black jacket, and black shoes.
The driver:
According to KCPD, Bryson stands 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs roughly 200 pounds. He wore a black jacket, red hoodie, trousers, and blue sneakers.
Police have not defined Bryson’s relationship with the children or the circumstances that prompted the family’s anxiety.
As of 10:16 p.m., KCPD reported that the youngsters had been located in South Kansas City. Bryson was also brought into arrest.
