Chicago Man Sentenced To 19 Years In Prison For String Of Armed Robberies Across Illinois And Wisconsin

Donte Patterson, 33, a Chicago resident, has been sentenced to 19 years in federal prison after being convicted of two armed carjackings and one armed robbery that took place across state lines in Illinois and Wisconsin. Patterson’s illegal binge resulted in hefty jail time, according to the FBI-Milwaukee’s Facebook post.

Patterson committed an armed carjacking in his hometown of Chicago on August 20, 2025, which served as only a prelude to his criminal exploits the next day. The next day, he continued his felonious campaign in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he committed another armed carjacking and an armed robbery in West Milwaukee, both while brandishing a pistol. According to the FBI in Milwaukee, in both instances, victims were struck by instant fright at the hands of a determined robber.

The successful arrest and conviction of Patterson was the product of a collaborative operation by the FBI’s Milwaukee Area Violent Crime Task Force, which comprises the Milwaukee and West Milwaukee Police Departments, as well as the Chicago Police Department. This collaboration emphasizes the importance of interagency coordination in combating interstate crime. The FBI—Milwaukee confirmed Patterson’s sentencing, which took place on Wednesday in the Eastern District of Wisconsin, via social media.
