A human trafficking survivor from Pennsylvania who was reported missing nearly two years ago has been located safe.
Lauren Steele has been located and is safe, according to Pennsylvania State Police, who announced on Wednesday. Additional information concerning her whereabouts was not revealed.
Steele, who was 36 years old at the time she was reported missing, is a human trafficking survivor, according to a June 2025 NewsNation report, and she was on her way to Las Vegas from Carlisle to attend a program for human trafficking survivors.
Steele was scheduled to fly to Las Vegas from Pennsylvania, but her trip was delayed, so she was placed in a Carlisle hotel. According to the report, she contacted her family after arriving at the hotel, informing them that there was a man waiting outside for her who was meant to help her board the plane.
