D.C. police have been arrested in connection with the homicide of a missing woman discovered in a dumpster at the Hechinger Mall shopping center in April.
Police arrested Richard Dyson, 58, of Northeast D.C. and charged him with second-degree murder while armed in the death of Donella Bryan, 62, of Northeast D.C.
On April 19, at about 8:10 a.m., officers responded to a call about an unconscious person in the 1600 block of Maryland Avenue NE. Bryan was found inside a dumpster and was pronounced dead.
The following day, the chief medical examiner’s office determined that the cause of death was blunt force injuries and asphyxiation. The incident was considered domestic in character.
