Man Receives Sentenced On Federal Charge For Deliberately Driving Into Flock Of Canadian Geese

A man was sentenced this week in federal court for intentionally driving his vehicle into a flock of geese and killing one goose.

According to public court documents and evidence presented at sentencing, Joseph Thomas Lamb, 82, crashed his vehicle into a flock of Canada geese in Ankeny, Ohio, around 6:30 a.m. on June 10, 2025.

Lamb stopped to a halt to allow a flock of geese to cross in front of his vehicle but immediately accelerated when they reached the center of his lane.

A goose was killed.

Lamb was sentenced to six months of probation and a $2,000 fine.
