Houston police say a woman shot her neighbor after he knocked on her apartment door and repeatedly rang her doorbell early Wednesday morning.
Man shot at apartment complex
The shooting occurred around 2:30 a.m. in an apartment complex at 5110 Griggs Road, near Martin Luther King Boulevard on Houston’s south side.
Officers arrived to find a 30-year-old man shot in the stomach. He was admitted to the hospital and was last reported to be in stable condition.
The woman was detained on the scene.
According to authorities, the man lives in an apartment near the woman, although they are not particularly close. The woman apparently lives with her mother and a few children.
Police said the man repeatedly rang her doorbell and knocked on her door. She reportedly confronted him in the corridor.
According to police, they got into a fight, and the woman fired two shots, one of which hit him.
Investigation ongoing
Nobody has been identified at this time.
It is also unknown why the man was in the residential unit.
It is unknown at this moment whether any charges will be filed.
