Two people, including a former postal employee, have been charged in connection with an alleged mail theft conspiracy in southeast Indiana that affected residents from several counties.
According to the Dearborn County Prosecutor’s Office, Cheyanne Bradley and Evan James Joel Hensley are facing charges stemming from an investigation into stolen and tampered mail affecting people of Ohio and Switzerland counties.

According to investigators, Bradley was employed by the postal service at the time of the alleged crimes and is suspected of taking undelivered mail from her designated delivery routes. Prosecutors claim Hensley then opened the letter and engaged in theft and forgery.
Authorities stated that victims reported missing or delayed mail, including checks and other financial documents.
“This case involves a profound breach of public trust,” said Lynn Deddens, Dearborn County prosecutor. “People depend on the mail for their financial security and peace of mind. When that trust is violated, it impacts an entire community.”
Bradley and Hensley face charges of theft, conspiracy to commit forgery, improper business influence, and official misconduct. Both are set to appear in court on February 20.
