Waukesha Police say the suspect responsible for the random shootings in the city and county is now in custody. The news came following a shooting with Brookfield Police on Saturday.
Brookfield Police officers were shot at while searching for a suspect who fled the scene of a multi-vehicle collision on Barker Road on Saturday night. Brookfield Police shot the man multiple times and transported him to the hospital for critical injuries.

Waukesha Police said the suspect is connected to the shooting of three homes in the city and county on Saturday, January 26. Three homes were struck by gunfire near West High School. A home in New Berlin was also targeted by gunfire that night, but Waukesha Police will not say whether the two incidents are connected.
In each of those cases, investigators say the shooting appeared to be random, with no motive or target.
The suspect who was transported to the hospital is a 31-year-old male.
