Two teenage boys are in custody after reportedly posing as delivery service employees and robbing a Scottsdale residence on Saturday morning.
About 10:45 a.m., Scottsdale police summoned them to a home at 94th Street and Cactus Road to investigate an unknown problem.
When cops arrived, they found a home invasion in progress. They immediately noticed a woman shouting and a teen fighting with a male.
Once officers got into the home, the teen boys fled through the back of the home, got into a vehicle, and fled the scene.
Scottsdale police followed the vehicle momentarily after it crashed into a nearby strip mall and came to a stop.
The suspects, aged 16 and 17, were arrested without incident.
Police then discovered that the suspects posed as delivery service employees to obtain entry to the home. When the door was opened, they allegedly pushed inside, held two victims, and hid a third in another area of the house.
Authorities found evidence of the crime at the suspect’s residence and in his vehicle.
This appears to be an isolated incident, and authorities do not believe there are any outstanding suspects or a threat to the community.
The teenagers are facing felony charges for aggravated assault, kidnapping, burglary, criminal impersonation, disorderly conduct, and felony fleeing the scene.
